For clamping pliable wire armour. No cold-flow ore soft inner sheath. Fully inspectable armour clamping. Dual certification EExd Flameproof and EExe Increased Safety. Wide cable acceptance range eases selection. Same hexagon size enables faster installation.
APPLICATION Outdoor or indoor. For use with pliable wire armoured 'T' elastomer and plastic insulated cable, with extruded or taped bedding, e.g. soft sheathed fire-retardant cable. In particular with:- a) Cables not complying with BS 5308, BS 5467, BS 6116, BS 6346, BS 6883 or equivalent. b) Enclosures containing an ignition source in gas group II areas. c) Enclosures exceeding 2 litres in volume and containing an ignition source installed in a Zone 1 area. FUNCTION: Provides armour clamping. Provides a compound seal aourund individual cable cores. Provides a seal on outer sheath of cable.
DETAILS The purpose of this type of gland is to form a barrier between the individual insulated conductors within the cable, and prevent entry into the cable of the products of an explosion within the enclosure. This gland provides an effective inner seal on cables having tape bedding or 'soft' sheaths as in some types of fire-retardent cables. The seal of a conventional gland for the cable inner sheath is replaced with a single compound filled cahmber which permits packing around individual insulated conductors. Assembly of the gland comresses the packing material and distributes the comound evenly to effect a barrier at point of entry into enclosure. Sealing on outer sheath of cable and armour clamping are provided in the conventional manner.
CERTIFICATION AND APPROVAL BASEEFA Certificate No. Ex 85B1258U. EExd. EN 50014, EN 50018 and EN 50019. Suitable for use in Zone 1 and 2. Suitable for use in Group II A, II B and II C. Meets the requirements of IP 66. OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE: -60C to +100 degrees C.
