APPLICATION To seal conductors at entry to enclosure via conduit or to enable an existing compression gland to be converted to a barrier gland.
FUNCTION The purpose of this component is to form a barrier between the individual insulated conductors within the cale, and prevent entry into the cable or conduit of the products of an explosion within the enclosure. DETAILS: The component is fitted with a simple compound filled chamber which permits packing around individual insulated conductors. Assembly of the component compresses the packing material and distributes the compound evenly to effect a barrier at point of entry into enclosure. Compound supplied with component in a pack including assembly instructions.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE -60 degrees C to +100 degrees C. MATERIALS AND FINISHES: Hawke glands are manufactured as standard in brass (BS. 2874). Alternative materials include stainless steel (BS. 970) and mild steel (BS. 970). Hawke glands can be supplied plated to suit the customers application, e.g, zinc, nickel etc.
