EX series Flameproof Electrical Connectors

Robust, metal shell, multi-pin electoral connectors. EExd / EExe Certification. Brass or stainless steel shell options. Hazardous are offshore and onshore applications.
APPLICATION
Hawke EExd / EExe connectors are used for top side electrical power and control cable connections within hazardous areas. They may be used for linking EExd or EExe enclosures, for connecting test equipment wihout having to open the enclosures, junction boxes, connecting cameras, flowmeters, analysers and other types of specialised equipment.
DETAILS
Various styles are available including in-line cable connectors (one half may be flanged for mounting purposes) and an EExd / EExe dual certified bulkhead connector for direct make/break connections to Ex rated enclosures. Three basic EExd / EExe shall sizes can accommodate up to 75 contracts.
FUNCTION
Hawke EExd / Eexe connectors have been designed specifically for use in hazardous area I.e. Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosive atmospheres. They are engineered to withstand rough handling, certified to IP66/67 and also undergone a three hour deluge test. The design, testing and certification of these connectors is primarily geared towards the offshore oil gas and petrochemical industry. However the connectors are also suitable for many onshore applications in all types of industry. CONSTRUCTION: The connectors are avilable in various shell materials including brass or stainless steel and are supplied ready for assembly. Assembly is a straight forward procedure using a suitable EExd certified cable gland, available from Hawke, for termination of the cable.
